A heartbreaking (and too true) story of brave women and men fighting against injustice and racism, If Beale Street Could Talk is a beautiful gem. The cinematography is impressive, artfully done, with a gorgeous soundtrack composed by Nicholas Britell.
In this illustration the bond between Tish and Fonny is clear, but they are divided by the medium of the street, that is a metaphor for the glass of the prison visiting room. They are together, but also separated.
If Barry Jenkins’ movies make your heart beat, and you loved the story of Beale Street, this print will be a compelling statement in your home.
